This base seems to be great so far. I have had it a couple of weeks. The base is very heavy and sturdy. I think it looks very nice as well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I haven't had it very long. So far, so good, though!

The product itself is great. However, just like numerous others wrote in their reviews, the rod holder part was smashed, huge dent. Luckily my umbrella still fit because it was going to be a pain to send it back. Do a better job packaging will you for pete sake!
